Gaels Aim To Bounce Straight Back

Ranelagh Gaels 1-9
Ballyboden St Enda’s 2-7

RANEALGH Gaels must pick themselves up quickly following a heartbreaking AFL Division 8 defeat to Ballyboden St Enda’s on Tuesday night.

Gaels lost by just a single point to a late, late ‘Boden goal at Bushy Park but there is another league game to be played on Sunday morning.

Ranelagh travel to Dublin 15 to take on Erin Go Bragh at the weekend so the panel have to put the agonising mid-week defeat out of their minds quickly.

The home side started slowly on Tuesday and the game could have been put out of their reach early on.

But the team showed real grit to not let ‘Boden get away and they eventually got themselves into a 0-4 to 0-3 lead shortly before the break.

They received a setback when the visitors drove home a goal just on the halftime whistle to take a two-point lead into the change of ends.

Following some tough talking from manager Liam O’Hagan during the interval Ranelagh really took this game by the scruff of the neck and worked their way back in front.

But just before the end Ballyboden got a late goal to sneak the win and take both points.
