La na gClub

FOLLOWING on from the success of last year’s inaugural La Na gClub the GAA has decided to make club day an annual event.

And for the second year in-a-row Ranelagh Gaels will be marking the occasion with a weekend-long series of events.

Everyone in the community, whether you are a club member or not, is more than welcome and encouraged to join in.

On Saturday evening at our home ground of Bushy Park the Gaels will hold a fun inter-provincial blitz for all of the players – men and women – running between 5.30 and 7.30.

The trophy that Ranelagh won for topping AFL Division 9 last year will be presented to the winning team and it is hoped that this will become an annual event in our club’s calendar.

The silverware will be handed over to the victorious captain by manager Liam O’Hagan at a special ceremony on Saturday night at Smyth’s Pub in Ranelagh village.

La na gClub officially kicks off on Sunday, May 9 and the Gaels will be out in force.

Last year we managed to raise huge awareness about the club and we hope to do the same next weekend.

Players will be stationed around the village distributing fliers about Ranelagh Gaels and letting people know more about us.

  1. Any truth in the rumours their about the Munster Camp. The Waterford boys are entering their own team, the Cork boys won’t pass to the Kerry boys and the Clare Lads want to enter a Hurling team???
