Gaels Choke Crokes

Ranelagh Gaels 2-12
Kilmacud Crokes 1-8

Ranelagh Gaels recovered from yet another horrendous start to beat Kilmacud Crokes comfortably in the Murphy Cup on Wednesday night.

Playing at home at Bushy Park the Gaels once again were slow out of the blocks and the visitors had 1-1 on the board after the first two attacks of the game.

But, as usual, Ranelagh showed plenty of grit and determination to get back into the game and eventually won by seven points.
Goals from Johnny Conlon and Eamon Courtney ensured a 2-4 to 1-4 half-time lead and from then on Liam OHagan’s side were well in control.

Liam used all of his substitutes in the second half, but it didn’t disrupt the pattern of the game.

This was a good win with a big Division 8 clash with St Patrick’s of Palmerstown away coming up on Sunday.

One thing is for sure, the Gaels won’t want to get off to a similar start at the weekend or else they will face a real mountain to climb.
